I would have to say that this is the only salon I have gone to, feeling confident about leaving my curls in someone's hands, literally! They are all very friendly and chatty, got my hair cut by Mary who is very understanding of my confidence issues with getting my hair cut. I actually enjoyed it! It's quite far to travel from where I live and is more expensive than other places I've went to - but it completely worth it. She cut my hair very well. Had to wait for a month because i wanted Mary to cut my hair! She is very popular, and i can understand why. I agree with the above - longer head massages please! :) :) (5/5)

I have been getting my hair cut here for over 10 years. I would not go anywhere else for cut, colour or style. All the girls are highly trained and super polite and friendly and Mary is wonderful. Fully deserving of 5 stars. (5/5)

For the past year and a half l have been searching for a hairdresser!! I have thick curly hair and anyone who has the same knows how hard it is to find someone who understands curls and who can give you a cut that suits you - its a bit like searching for gold and yesterday l found gold!!! Mary (the owner) sat and listened to how l felt about my hair, the way l wanted my hair to be and she gave me a cut that left me smiling from ear to ear when l left the salon!! Staff were friendly from the moment l walked in the door to the moment l left. I have now found my hairdresser and as every girl knows thats a special thing (searching for the holy grail special!!) If your having dramas with your hair l highly recommend you visit Boosh!! (5/5)

What a service i got from the minute i walked in to the minute i walked out i went in with a picture of what i wanted and when Mary looked at it she styled my hair just like it that is why i would not hesitate to give this a 5* for sevice and 5* for the coffee even if you dont like coffee you will love the coffee that Mary makes (5/5)

I have been using Boosh for 9 years and would go nowhere else. Mary is excellent both in terms of cut and colour. The rest of the staff are also very good so if you can't get Mary, you are still guaranteed a very god result. My husband has also been going to Mary for the past five years and endorses this review entirely. The salon is minimalist in decort, spotlessly clean - music played is varied and always of good quality - tea/coffee on constant tap! The head massages are also a bonus. Mary has also recently introduced a vibrating shoulder massage pad - blissful! (5/5)

I have to agree with the above review. Having tried most hairdressers in Edinburgh, I was delighted to find Boosh and refuse to go anywhere else now. The stylists listen to what you want and offer their expertise but ultimately only do what has been decided on. I always ask for Mary, but as she's very in demand, I've had the other girls cut it too and they're just as good. It's a relaxed atmosphere, the conversation is very good but never forced upon you if you're feeling grumpy and unsociable. The head massages are great but they don't last long enough. (5/5)

This is an excellent hairdresser, worthy of the 5 stars. The owner Mary set up her own business after working for vidal sassoon for years. Her salon is a welcoming place to all that enter through the doors. You are offered as many cups of tea that you can drink and biscuits as your hair is cut and blow dried. Good selection of magazines and she even has portavle DVD player to watcha film if you are getting your hair coloured ! Lovely girls that work there, beautifully trendy, but down to earth. You get a great head massage as your hair is washed. Reasonable prices for brilliant quality. Discounts for students, open late some nights and guys welcome as well. (5/5)
