Have been coming to Cheynes and Susan based in George st since dec 1984!! Speaks for itself really. (5/5)

I always go to high end hairdressers as I find they give the best styles and treat you really well. Cheynes on George Street was the exception. I booked in as my hair was fried after a disasterous bleach attempt, and asked to have a fair bit of the length cut off to get rid of the damage. The stylist (wish I remember her name!) barely spoke to me the whole time I was there. She then charged me £50(!!) just for the cut!! I would have been ok with this if it had been a decent cut, but I discovered later that she had left lots of tiny sections of hair so some parts were several inches than the main length! I couldn't believe that a stylist who, as she charged so much, must have been high up, could have done such shoddy work!! I got the impression she just wanted to do my hair ASAP and get me out ASAP - totally disinterested!! I'll never go back to Cheynes. (1/5)

I've been going to Cheynes for a year or so, Laura cuts and colours my hair and she's really good, always does what I ask for but adds her own twists to make it better. The only slightly bad thing about this salon is that some of the senior staff don't make an effort to be friendly. maybe they think if they're not doing your hair they don't need to smile at you when you're waiting but actually, it makes a difference to the customer experience! (4/5)
