My family spent 2 weeks visiting Edinburgh and sampling several different meals and baked goods throughout the town and neighboring villages, when we saw Preachers our hopes were that we could get a decent cup of coffee and an edible meal. Looks can be deceiving, this little shop is operated by a group of amazing people who are polite, pleasant to talk to and overall deliver great customer service. I ate Haggis at 4 different restaurants who are all supposed to have the best in Scotland however I personally state that Preachers Haggis was by far THE BEST I had while visiting Edinburgh, there other breakfast items were very good too. Like a good Patisserie should they make all of their own baked goods and you can even see from your tables the baker hard at work with dough and ingredients in the back. The scones, and particularly the Potato Scones are worthy of being crowned best in Edinburgh in the opinion of my family as well as several locals. The icing on top of this delicious place is price.. Our family of 4 ate breakfast 2 days in a row at this humble shop and spent less than a third of the price that we would have spent ANYWHERE else for breakfast. Prior to leaving Edinburgh we had to swing by to take home some fresh bread and baked goods, I guarantee when we return to Edinburgh we will be finding this little shop and the amazing Baker.
